Final Thoughts

I love all the supplements in our top five and would personally use and recommend all of them. The choice is perhaps whether you want to take folic acid and then get your nutrients from food. Or if you feel you would prefer the convenience of a multivitamin that contains the recommended dosage of folic acid.

If your diet is not as healthy as you would like, then I would recommend starting to add in foods as recommended in our article ‘what vitamins to take during pregnancy’. A great way to add vast amounts of healthy vitamins is by drinking juices and smoothies or making healthy soups and stews. However, it is always good to supplement with a good organic multivitamin too. After all your body is going to be doing a lot of work in the coming months growing your beautiful baby.

My absolute favourite and therefore best vitamin for pregnancy is the Organic pregnancy supplement by Neal’s Yard Remedies. I think it provided the best all round quantity of vitamins in the supplements with the recommended dose of folic acid plus 29 other vitamins and minerals. This gives you the peace of mind that you are giving your body and your baby all the good organic vitamins and minerals it needs, without any chemicals, fillers or synthetic ingredients that so many supplements now have.
